BEN LOMOND, Calif. — The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office said they arrested a man Thursday night for injuring a dependent adult severely enough to be booked for mayhem.
A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said that Kyle Talty, 34, of Ben Lomond assaulted the victim causing an injury, and fled from the scene. This all occurred around 9 p.m.
The Ben Lomond Volunteer Fire Department confirmed with KSBW 8 that a toe was bitten off during the altercation.
The spokesperson said the victim was a male and the two were known to each other.
A perimeter was set up and the suspect was arrested around an hour later by deputies. The Boulder Creek Fire Department and California State Parks also responded to this incident.
He was booked into county jail for mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon (not a firearm), causing injury to an elderly/ dependant adult and obstructing a peace officer.
