DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – A new bill requires Alabama firefighters and EMS workers to undergo training for those with invisible disabilities.
This year, law enforcement started sensory training and now firefighters and EMS workers will be required to do a few hours of this training every year.
Alabama House Bill 126, otherwise known as the Abram Colin Act, calls for sensory training for firefighters and EMS workers to better work with those on the spectrum.
”Any time we can add to our toolbox for our firefighters and EMS responders throughout the state is just better for our public,” Deputy Chief Chris Etheredge with the Dothan Fire Department said.
